Facts About Propane  l Mow CLEAN With Propane  l  Diesel Applications  l  Convert Your Car To LP

Mow CLEAN
With Propane

Lawn Maintenance equipment converted to propane offers many advantages over gasoline.
* Costs on average 30%
   less than gasoline
* Burns 50 % cleaner
   than gasoline
* Fuel Stability - One of
   the biggest repair
   items on a gas engine
   is the carburetor. LP
   Gas units have no
   issue when stored
   over time.
* Longer run times
* Longer engine life
* Extended oil life
* No fuel spill concerns
* Better for the environ-
     ment.

Some Interesting Facts About Propane:

** 95% of all propane consumed in the US is produced within North America, reducing our dependency on imported oil.
a
* Propane comes from two sources: refining of Natural Gas or Crude Oil. This means that the price of propane will be more stable and less affected by speculators

a

* Propane creates less carbon emissions than gasoline or diesel, therefore its considered a Green Fuel (i.e. environmentally safe)

a

* As a motor fuel, propane leaves less residual deposits left in the engine, resulting in less wear on the engine parts and lower maintenance costs. (oil change)

a

* Octane rating of propane is 105 compared to premium gas at 93.

Propane: Today's Smart, Green Fuel

The use of propane for vehicle fuel, is not a new concept. Propane has been used on farm tractors since the early 1950’s.

Propane's physical properties and chemical structure have made it the most popular of all the alternative fuels throughout the world.

The popularity of propane for vehicle fuels is continuing to rise as the price of gasoline rises.

In Michigan there is approx. 14,000 vehicles powered by clean burning, efficient Propane.

The use of propane can offer significant fuel savings when compared to gasoline or diesel, at today’s prices. Who knows what a gallon of gasoline or diesel will rise to in the future.

The Staff of Stanford LP Gas, Motor Fuel Division have been working with Propane and vehicle fuel systems for many years, and are regarded as experts in the field. We are not new to this activity, we know what works, and what does not, and will answer your questions to determine if your fleet on propane makes economic sense for your particular situation.

Propane Systems For Your Vehicles

Sequential Vapor Systems (SVIS). Gasoline engines can now be converted to operate on either gasoline or Propane fuel.

Newer gasoline engines can be converted to operate on Propane or Gasoline (Dual Fuel) by installing a Sequential Vapor System (SVIS).

The SVIS system uses the OEM Computer signals to control the propane injectors.

The technology in this system allows the engine to “mirror” the gasoline operation when using propane, which improves engine operation and efficiency compared to older propane fuel systems.

Benefits:
* Reduced fuel costs
* Reduced maintenance
    costs
* Reduced tailpipe
    emissions
* Extended driving range
    (Dual Fuel)

Diesel Optimizer Systems (DOS) propane metered into the air intake stream based on engine load.

The horsepower and torque of a diesel engine can be improved by adding a metered amount of propane vapor to the air inlet charge.

In addition to the power increase, overall fuel economy can be improved. This is accomplished by monitoring turbo boost pressure, (engine load) and metering vapor into the engine, which supports more complete burning of the diesel fuel.

Benefits:
* Reduced operating cost
    per mile
* Improved power and
    torque
* Reduced tailpipe
   emissions
* Reduced engine
   maintenance costs.
